Desks
This page features a variety of desks spanning a range of periods.
Sheraton desk
This is a small "Lady's Writing Desk" of Sheraton design. It is covered in different veneers. I've used Crotch California Big Leaf Maple for the main panels. The substrate is mahogany throughout.
There are two separate pieces here - a desk that rests on a small table. The table is supported by slender turned and reeded legs. The desk portion is removable and there are brass handles on the sides for lifting.
Inside the desk are a number of very small drawers fitted with very small brass knobs. There is also a pigeon hole.

Seymour Secretary Bookcase
This is a reproduction of the original piece in the White House. It features tambour doors that open to reveal pigeonholes and small drawers. The tambour is secured by a unique locking mechanism. The foldout writing surface is covered in blue baize matching the blue paint in the pigeonholes. The upper bookcase features painted glass doors with gothic arches.
